YOUR BEST SHOT

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

This is a popular advice I am sure everyone has heard at one point in their life.

But I beg to differ, in relationships you should infact put all your eggs in one basket. If you are already thinking of taking out some of your eggs and putting it in other baskets, something is clearly wrong in the ‘ship’.

I believe the reason there are lots of mediocre relationships, could be attributed to the fact that many people want to keep their options open.

We don’t want to be fully committed into anything, we want to entertain other people. Why? Because we don’t want to get heart broken and be at the losing end of the deal. So we rather spread our eggs in different baskets, that way we think the risk is minimal.

Yeah you are right, the risk of your heart getting broken is minimal but so are your chances of being with the right person.

The right person for you shouldn’t be just one out of the many options you have. No one deserves that kind of mediocre love.

Beautiful relationships should have a lot of depth and quality.

I honestly feel when it comes to love, you either give it your very best shot or don’t even bother at all.

  2. Whenever I echo the sentiments shared in your blog, they say I’m abnormal. Love is absolute and knows only a single Partner. Great read RIA.

  3. Sound. We often say concerning marriage that 1+1=1. That being true, it means 50%+50% commitment by the participants in any relationship will only ever equal 50% and not 100%. If even one person is holding back a little, there is that much chance things would falter and fall.

  4. For anything to work, there must be a shared but collective responsibilities. Of course, in every ‘ship’ there must crew.
