It’s Market Day II

I have made a previous post about market days in this little community where I live. You can check out my previous post here👇 >>>>It’s Market Day 1.<<<<

As we all know, shopping for groceries comes with the inevitable issue of bringing home excess nylon bags we don’t need, which eventually ends up in garbage cans and then brings about a bigger issue in the environment.

Plastic waste has become a nuisance on land and an even bigger nuisance in the ocean.

In the community where I live, plastic waste is generated by the millisecond, making it almost impossible for waste management agencies to get rid off.

This isn’t just happening here alone, it has become a global issue. It’s pretty much an alarming situation because plastic waste are persistent pollutants.

In other words, they are going to be around for a very long time.

However, a lasting solution has been brought to light to curb this menace and that is by “beating plastic pollution”.

One way to do this is to stop or reduce single-use plastics such as straws, pet bottles, nylon shopping bags and so on. Instead, go for reusable plastic items like personal water bottles, durable shopping bags etc.

It’s not just enough to write about a cause, you also have to do something about it.

So, I went to the market today with my shopping bag and storage containers for perishable items.

After a stressful day at the market, I made it home with only two nylon bags.

I was so proud of myself for saying NO to excess nylon bags shoved at me by the traders.

I really hope to continue beating plastic pollution and making my environment a better place.

What do you say?

P.S: Due to network issues, my posts will be delivered quite late. Kindly bear with me.😪
