Open Letter To All The Girls like Me.

To all the girls who have a deeply hidden and inarticulate desire for something beyond the daily life.

To all the girls who feel pressured to look and live a certain way.

To all the girls who refuse to shrink themselves to gain validation and acceptance from society.

To all the girls who are hell-bent on expressing themselves without fear or guilt.

To all the girls who are not scared or ashamed to admit all of their struggles.

To all the girls who keep learning and unlearning so many things about themselves.

To all the girls who choose to love themselves every day.

To all the girls who feel trapped in a maze and are trying to find themselves.

To all the girls who love a little too hard.

To all the girls out there who choose to bloom unapologetically in spite of their flaws and imperfections.

To all the girls like me.

You are stronger than you think and more loved than you will ever know. Let your face lit up like the sun because you are beautiful and cherished.

The world doesn’t define who you are or what you are capable of, only you have the power to do so. It will be difficult in this unfriendly world but remember, it takes courage to stand alone and you are braver than you think.

Keep watering yourself with positivity and disengage from negative energy. The world will always judge you for something, so don’t restrict and suppress your talents or gifts just to fit in.

Don’t be afraid to love; fall in love, dive in love, swim in love, run in love and don’t hold back. Be hopeful in love, don’t think about all the things that can’t be and focus on all the wonderful things that can.

It doesn’t matter how much you struggled with yourself in the past, the past is perfectly where it belongs, right behind you. The present and future is what matters now.

It’s okay to do what’s best for you without feeling bad for it. Invest in yourself and your dreams.

Trust and believe in yourself a little more. You owe no one an explanation, your feelings and opinions are valid.

To all the girls like me, you are amazing, awesome but most importantly, you are enough regardless of the colour of your skin, body size, hair type, personality or IQ.

You are different and guess what? That’s your superpower.

As long as you know who you are and what makes you happy, it doesn’t matter how others see you.
