10 Photos and What They Mean To Me.

I have a ton of photos and I was spoilt for choice on selecting 10 photos to share with you all.

Anyways, I decided to share some illustrations I got from Pinterest, I honestly find these illustrations pretty thoughtful, and inspiring.

I hope you love them as much as I do.

By the way, the initial prompt was to share five photos but I decided to double it. I mean, what’s the point of having so much illustrations on my phone, if I can’t show them off. 💁

Day 26:

1. Unnecessary Wedding Cost

Many folks incure so much debt trying to show-off or impress people. Most times, this puts an early strain on the marriage from the get go, as couples begin to battle with financial issues the following week after they say I do.

2. Emotional Child Abuse

Constantly putting down your child, or saying hurtful things in the name of discipline, will eventually turn you to a monster your child can’t wait to get away from.

3. Depression

Depression sometimes seeps in gradually, from being constantly sad to eventually falling into a sunken place which may be difficult to recover from.

Always check up on friends and family.

4. Irresponsible Parenting

Over-indulging and not guiding a child towards independence eventually leaves you with the burden of an over-grown toddler in your old age.

5. Societal Standards

This illustration depicts societal standards for men and women in society. Women have to be twice as good to get similar positions with their male counterparts who just have to be good enough.

6. Girls Support Girls

The #girlssupportgirls trend is aimed at rewriting myths and the ugly narrative of women being their own worst enemies.

Women don’t need to compete against one another to get men’s attention or approval, rather we need to look out for each other and be our greatest support.

7. Body Positivity

The pressure to be perfect or give the illusion of perfection often comes with so much pain and constraints.

Your body is great just the way it is. Cut yourself from all that unnecessary pressure and feel free.

8. It’s okay to rest

I totally love this illustration, Nigerians interpret this as “I cannor comman kee mysef”.

It’s really okay to rest, you don’t have to finish all those assignments and projects immediately. You can do it……..later.

9. Getting perspective

Having perspective on things is key! When you are faced with so much you think you can’t handle, always remember that what is going on is just a little speck in your whole life.

Always look at the bigger picture.

10. Self-love

When you choose to keep loving and taking care yourself, you are bound to bloom unapologetically.

My favourite illustration is no. 8, tell me yours in the comment section.

Have a splendid Wednesday!
