The Biggest Scam Ever!

Do you want to know what it is?

Promise not to freak out if I tell you?

Swear it!

Okay, here we go….*piano playing quietly in the background* the biggest scam in this 21st century are motivational speeches orchestrated by so-called motivational speakers.

Motivational speeches are just a ton of regurgitated, recycled, rewashed and rinsed ancient quotes that dates back as far as the stone age.

Tell me a motivational speech that isn’t about any one of these three themes:

  • Don’t give up.
  • Follow your dreams.
  • Be yourself.

There is nothing original out there, just repackaged old stuff and unrealistic advice for an exorbitant price.

*Pay $$$ bucks to attend a motivational seminar to learn the secret of being great*

Audience: How do we become millionaires?

Motivational speaker: It’s all within you, just believe.

Audience: How do we overcome our challenges?

Motivational Speaker: The only thing standing in your way is you.

What in the world does that even mean? Imagine paying over a hundred bucks to hear “it’s all within you, just believe.” Just believe what exactly?😒 Or that the only thing standing in my way is me. Are you guys for real?!

What even pisses me off the most, is the way the audience gives a standing ovation to the lame response like they just heard the gospel.

Motivational speakers need to do better by generating original content, and delivering a realistic guide or step by step solution, to tackle the problems of their audience who are paying a lot of money to attend.

And not just drop bogus punchlines because guess what? Sooner or later people will stop patronizing their stale products.

Enough of my ranting, let me hear from you in the comment section. What do you consider as the biggest scam in this century?

Have a terrific Tuesday!
