Open Letter To All The 20-Something-Year-Olds.

“Press on – nothing can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Perseverance and determination alone are omnipotent.”

– Calvin Coolidge

To all the 20-something-year-olds:

The twenties life is actually a very crazy phase. You are either struggling with school, finding a career path, financial independence, or rethinking this new business you ventured into or worried about your love life or trying to get in on this social media buzz and how you can become the next internet sensation.

It’s such a mess and you know the worst part, it gets messier. You are young and vibrant and at this point, you are either trying to live the YOLO life or snuggled up indoors thinking if your guardian angel has abandoned your sorry ass to go on a baecation to Santorini.

Before you start thinking whether or not I am about to drop some really bomb-ass tips, secrets or life lessons for you to live by, I just want you to know that you know what? Yup, you are damn right.

Don’t make the mistake of feeling trapped in a box, you are not stuck in your situation, you have options and you will always have choices so do make sure you make the right ones.

Learn to live with your mistakes and do make sure you avoid repeating them. Life is messed up and I tell you no one gets through it without making a few mistakes or taking a few wrong turns here and there. But, what matters is the determination and resolve within yourself not to let those things define who you are and who you want to be.

Start and fail at many businesses as you can and learn from every experience. Explore opportunities, travel, learn a new language, skill, or musical instrument.

Work hard at being the best version of you, to thrive in this world you will need more than talent to cut it.

“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”

– Stephen King

Some days, your visions and life goals may seem clear as crystal and other days you just don’t feel like getting out of bed because the world sucks. You are definitely not alone so don’t feel pressured in getting everything in order because no one has it all figured out.

Many interesting chapters in your life won’t have a title until much later. So, in the meantime keep taking it a day at a time. Everything will eventually make sense in due time, why you went through all you went through to bring you to this very point.

I promise you, it always does.
