The Brevity of Life

“Even in our best shape, we are a brittle piece of mortality. Your life is a breath, don’t waste it”.

— LeCrae

I remember when I was a little child, but this so long memory seems like it was just yesterday, how fast time flies!

When we entered into 2019, it ultimately felt like it would take forever to end, oh boy was I wrong? Damn yes!

It’s pretty much the end of the year and it kind of feels like we literally just breezed through all the other months. Life is so tricky, it comes at you with so much force and it makes you think it is here to stay but the truth is this; life is fleeting and transient.

In the grand scheme of things, life isn’t as short as we really think, it just that we lose so much of it chasing other things that are less important.

A wise person recognizes the brevity of life and learns to number their days. Like they say, the most important thing in life is knowing the most important thing in life.

At the end of the day, each one of us is a pawn in the universal game of chess. You may capture the queen or checkmate the king, ultimately though, everything gets packed and goes inside the same box.

What then, is your life purpose?

What then, makes this long but also short life worth living for?

#reflections

“The purpose of life is not just to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well”.
—Ralph Waldo Emerson
