Twitter Stories 10

“Many people make the mistake of confusing information with knowledge. They are not the same thing. Knowledge involves the interpretation of information. Knowledge involves listening.”

— Henning Mankell

Yippee!!! Welcome to the 10th episode of Twitter stories.🤗

On today’s episode, I will be sharing an interesting thread on funny cases of being misunderstood.

Language as it is, has a deceptive air of simplicity but is in fact very complex. Words spoken can be translated literally, metaphorically, as an idiomatic expression or slang, which makes it difficult to convey your thoughts and fully interpret what another person is saying.

And if one isn’t careful you could be left feeling like an idiot because you thought the word ‘hideous’ probably had something to do with hiding something.

So, join me as I roll out today’s Twitter thread:

I find this so funny and cute at the same time. Claire’s husband probably has a strong Mathematics background because I don’t know how else a person would interpret a love emoji ❤ as less than 3.😂😂😂

👇👇His mind interpreted it as:

What?! Well, to be fair he did as he was told.😅

My chest hurts 😂😅 I can just imagine the doctor’s reaction.

I am speechless at this point.

You weren’t specific about the kind of dates he was supposed to look out for.😁

😂😂

I hope you enjoyed reading this as much I did.

To be fair, we have all been misunderstood and misinterpreted someone at one point in time.

Let me hear from you, tell me a time you totally misunderstood someone or someone went off-course interpreting what you said.
