I know we like to think that social media isn’t all that and it is filled with a bunch of fake people begging for attention. Well, right now, I am afraid to announce that everyone is literally begging for attention.
I want to get noticed, you want to get noticed, we all want to get noticed and social media has provided a platform for us to share and engage necessary and most times unnecessary information.
In other words, we are all guilty!
Alright, so today I want to share four things I have learned on social media:
- Social media is not just a media. The key is to listen, engage, network, and build relationships.
- Social media is the ultimate equaliser. It gives a voice and a platform to anyone willing to engage. So, it doesnt matter if you are the president of a country or a 35-year-old unemployed youth, anyone and everyone is welcome to drop their two cents.
3. Content is fire. Social media is gasoline.
4. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, plus a social media overreaction.
Let me hear from you in the comment section, what has social media taught you?
